The potential role of the 'Gatekeeper' is the management of the
Malkoto-selo developments of cottages and farmhouses in Bulgaria.
The position is full time and is intended to embrace all aspects of
hospitality, management and functionality of the neighbourhood by
welcoming all visitors and operating a reception service to all.

The function of a 'Gatekeeper' is ideally filled by a family who are
physically able and experienced to some degree in the business of
hospitality. Any nationality is welcome, however it will be essential
to be able to gain a level of fluency in Bulgarian within 1 year.

The Gatekeeper’s cottage location

The plot designated for the Gatekeeper will be positioned close to the
entrance to the neighbourhood. The property will consist of a
2 bedroom cottage style property. Included will be outbuildings for
the storage and stocking of products and services required by the site.

This is where the disability equipment will be held, from wheelchairs,
assisted walking frames, folding access ramps, bathing hoists etc.

The specific grounds of the Gatekeeper’s plot, (garden) will be laid to
lawn and a designated area set aside for the growing of fruit and
vegetables.

This feature of the Malkoto-selo neighbourhoods allows for the supply
of organic food for all who visit the site.

General security and landscaping

As the title suggests the 'Gatekeeper' is the ‘keeper of the gate’, acting as
security for all the properties. With the built-in features of each property
the management of the security is a matter of observation and presence.
Key holding for the properties that are empty and awaiting
holiday/short stay residents will also a responsibility.

Maintenance of all common areas of the site including swimming pools
and the upkeep of gardens and landscaping as agreed with each
property owner.

Hospitality

Meeting and greeting of visitors to the site. Checking in of visitors and
hosting during their stay.

Laundry of all letting properties

General cleanliness of each letting property during changeover of
clients.

Providing assistance, guidance to visiting parties to reasonably fulfil the
demands of their stay. Organisation of airport transfer and car hire of
visiting holiday guests.

Tourism

Part of the function of the Gatekeeper is to assist and arrange day trips,
taxi collection, general tourism assistance, activity advance bookings etc.
offering a service that enables guests to have a fulfilling stay and experience.
